ANWR GROUP expands Ordercenter O1: From regional order location to European marketplace
March 23 2023 - Almost 10 years after the ground-breaking ceremony for the Order Centre O1 in Mainhausen, the ANWR GROUP has now given the starting signal for the second extension with the start of construction on 13 March. This is ANWR’s response to the increasing demand from the shoe, sports and leather goods industry for a presence at one of the most important order locations in Europe.
With the start of the second extension on 13 March 2023, the ANWR GROUP will continue the success story of "Ordercenter O1" in Mainhausen. In future, over 90 manufacturers will present their products for the new seasons to shoe, sports and leather goods retailers on a total of 15,500 square metres.
"We can speak with a clear conscience of a successful model," Fritz Terbuyken, Member of the Board of ANWR GROUP, is pleased to say. "After we initially analysed the need for a professional order centre in the Rhine-Main region in 2013, it quickly became clear that there was an ever-increasing interest on both the retail and industry sides to significantly expand the radius. Today we are talking about one of the most important order locations in Europe."
The proximity to the customers and the optimal connection to the order fairs that regularly take place on the campus of the ANWR group of companies are decisive for some suppliers to also locate their sales offices in Mainhausen. In addition to Nike and Skechers, the expansion now also brings the CROCS sales team to the ANWR campus.
"At Crocs Inc. we are committed to providing innovative casual footwear and meeting the needs of growing consumer demand directly in the German market, through our Crocs and HEYDUDE brands. This exciting opportunity to create a showroom for two brands in the new O1 building allows us to invest more energy and attention into our ongoing growth strategy for this region," said Dirk Wulf, Head of Key Accounts Crocs. "We are particularly looking forward to attending all trade shows and taking advantage of all local market opportunities on our doorstep thanks to this new location."
Shoe manufacturer Rieker is also planning its European showroom at the Mainhausen location in the future. "With our presence in the order centre in Mainhausen, we will be even closer to our customers as a top supplier to ANWR," says Markus Rapp, CEO of RIEKER Holding AG. "The new showroom will give our brand even more luminosity. We celebrate our 150th anniversary in 2024. We would also like to celebrate this with our customers in our new showroom at O1."
In addition to suppliers from the shoe and sports industry, more and more representatives of the leather goods and bag industry are settling in the O1. With Samsonite and Fond Of, two top brands are moving in. "We have been guests at the Goldkrone fairs for years. Now we have decided to move a showroom for the centre of Germany to Mainhausen as well and to participate in the expansion of the Order Centre," confirms Dirk Schmidinger, General Manager Germany, Samsonite. "We will show the entire brand portfolio of our group there and not just target one channel."
In addition to the brands mentioned, backpack and bag manufacturer Deuter and sports shoe supplier Hoka will also move into a showroom. The new showrooms are scheduled to be ready in April 2024. A few square metres are still available for interested brands. But Fritz Terbuyken is sure: "We'll start with a full house."
